Development of Guangzhou’s information transport blueprint - Information transport is Guangzhou’s future transport development strategy. Aiming at the construction of a big transport system on the basis of “1 plan and 3 platforms”, we shall try to do a good job on the planning of Guangzhou’s information transport so as to build an intelligent transport system platform, a logistics information platform and a transport administrative management information platform. It is estimated that a complete intelligent transport management control system shall be built by the year 2010. At present, the construction of Guangzhou’s transport information is at the speeding-up stage. Guangzhou’s electronic port, all-in-one IC card system (Yang Cheng Tong), information-sharing platform for intelligent transport system, public buses’ automatic monitoring, dispatching management and information issuing system, transport administrative inspection remote monitoring system, intelligent transport fiber trunk network, taxis comprehensive management and service system have priority to develop and gained fine results. The sales of Yang Cheng Tong cards have exceeded 3 million, which has basically reached the predicted objective to carry out “transport, telecommunications and business with one card”. Fifteen highway passenger stations and those at Panyu, Huadou, Zengcheng and Conghua sell tickets through the internet. Development of transport information network will not only provide Guangzhou’s transport sector with strong support but also make citizens experience quickness and high efficiency resulting from the “digitalized” daily transport.
